I met Angie and Gary in 2005 through rescue friend Michie. Michie had told me about this couple who LOVED Boxers and wondered if they would want to help me. Angie and Gary's first foster attempt was to be Cassius, renamed Chance. It didn't take long before they failed fostering 101 and adopted Chance into their family.
Gary and Angie both bring a sense of love and calm to those we help. They have been there for me and the dogs every time we've asked, even through the illnesses and passing of Chance and Angie's Mom. Always ready to lend a helping hand they excel at understanding that many of our rescues come from horrible backgrounds and need love, understanding and firm guidance before finding their forever homes. I have fostered myself and know the heartbreak of sending a dear soul to their forever home....it is not easy. But knowing that we have done the very best we can for each and everyone not only in their recovery but in finding the proper forever home helps ease our separation pains.
Gary and Angie have a loving home with Jasmine and now Maddie. Lucky went to the bridge in January 2007 with Chance following him in July of 2007 and Jasmine in November 2007 but they are forever in our hearts.
I could not have done what I have without Gary and Angie and I hope they know I will forever be in their debt for walking with me while we bring love and joy back to those who richly deserve it. My only wish is that they lived in Kearney :o) |
