HAPPY TAILS
In December 1994 a stray dog was found at the Law Enforcement Center. She was living in our impound lot and it took us several weeks to catch her. She was named Mickey and she came to live with me and my family. Lo and behold approximately 3 weeks later Mickey blessed us with 8 puppies. When the time came we found homes for all of them except the runt whom I had named Squirt. So very, very tiny!
I called my vet and asked if he knew of anyone looking to love a little ball of fur and he gave me Beth's name and phone number. Beth had recently lost her German Shepherd and didn't know if she wanted another dog but came over that afternoon......Squirt went home with her!!! Gotcha :o)
Squirt became Sporty, aka Sport, and has had a wonderful, loving home all these years. I get to see him from time to time when Beth brings him to work for me.

Thinking she would be staying with me for the rest of time that God gave her we got all her vetting done and she began to settle in. Then I happened to take her to a meeting at my vet's (where I work part time) and Susan saw Sophie! Quite simply it was decided before I even had a chance to think about it as Susan bonded to Sophie and most importantly Sophie bonded with Susan. It took only meeting the rest of the kids and Dad Michael and Sophie was adopted!
Sophie had wonderful years with Susan, Michael and their family. She did develope aggressive tendencies (please see the Health Information link) that Susan and Michael attempted to work with. Sadly she passed from a blood clot during surgery to remove a tumor.
Sophie brought joy and happiness to all she touched in her much too short life and we miss her so.
