There is no love more pure, accepting and unconditionally given than that of a dog for its human. They teach us of love, the responsibility of tending to life and the acceptance that all living things must die. In their eyes you can see that though we have done them wrong, they love us still.......
WHO WE ARE
Big Red Boxer Rescue is located in Kearney,NE and is dedicated to finding homes for Boxers that find themselves in shelters through no fault of their own. Many come from abusive and neglectful situations. Boxers are a large, intelliigent and headstrong breed who can easily take control in the family. All of the dogs in my program are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Vaccinations are brought up to date and any health and temperament issues are worked on. I am blessed to have the most wonderful foster family with Angie and Gary. Without them I would not have had the successful placements shown on these pages. YOU WANT A BOXER
The Boxer is a playful and fun-loving dog that originated in Germany during the 1800s. Originally bred for bullbaiting and guarding, they are naturally inclined to protect the family from strangers, so early obedience training, and an outlet for their energy is important. Comics at heart, they thrill to make their families laugh. Boxers get along well with children and other dogs and love jogging. Boxers are happy, friendly and extremely intelligent with soulful eyes that will break your heart. Boxers do not have the fat and coat requirements to be "outside" dogs and can develop breathing issues due to large chests and short muzzles. They are also prone to cancer so it is important that you are prepared emotionally and financially for that possibility.
